NoiseSnap (“the App”) is developed and operated by Seunghoon Kam (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App uses, how it is handled, and your rights.
The App does not upload measurement data, recordings, photos, or location to servers operated by us. No account registration or login is required.
We do NOT collect through our own systems:
The App uses the device microphone to estimate ambient noise levels (decibels) in real time. Audio is processed on your device to compute measurement values. Measurement results (such as current, min, average, and max levels, session times, and related settings) are stored locally on your device as history and are not sent to our servers.
Values are for reference only and are not a certified sound level meter. Do not use them for medical or safety decisions.
If you enable “Record audio during measurement” in Settings, the App may write a local audio file (for example, WAV) linked to that measurement session. Recording is off by default. Recordings stay on this device only and are never uploaded by the App. Files can be deleted with the related session or from the session audio controls.
If you enable saving location, the App may capture your approximate location once when a measurement starts (with your permission) and store it together with that measurement record on your device. Location is used only to label your local history and is not sent to our servers.
The App may use the camera or photo library (with your permission) so you can place measurement values on a photo. Overlay photos are created, saved, or shared only through your device. They are never uploaded by the App to our servers.
Settings, calibration preferences, language, measurement history, and related files are stored locally (for example via SharedPreferences and local files in the App’s support directory). You can delete history or clear app data on your device at any time.
Features such as PDF/report export or system sharing use your device’s share sheet or local files. We do not receive content you share with other apps or people.
The App may display banner advertisements through Unity LevelPlay mediation. Mediated networks may include Google AdMob, Unity Ads, Yandex, and similar partners configured in the mediation stack. These providers may collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, ad interaction data, and approximate location in accordance with their own privacy policies. This advertising data is processed by those providers and is not accessible to us as personal account data.
Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), the App may present a consent form (Google UMP) and advertising privacy options so you can manage personalized ads. On iOS, the App may also request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission.

The App may offer a subscription or in-app purchase to remove advertisements (Premium). Purchases are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your payment card or banking information. Entitlement status is verified through the store platform and may be stored locally on your device. You can restore purchases on a device signed in with the same store account. Subscriptions renew according to the store’s rules until canceled in your store account settings.
The App uses advertising mediation and app store billing. We do not operate our own analytics cloud or user-account backend for NoiseSnap measurement data. We do not sell your personal information. Sharing with third parties is limited to what advertising networks and store platforms process as described above.
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Measurement history, optional recordings, photos, and location tags remain on your device (except for data handled by ad networks or store platforms for ads and purchases). We do not maintain a central database of your NoiseSnap measurements.
Because we do not collect personal measurement data on our servers, there is no account-based dataset for us to export or delete on your behalf.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
